Low-Lying Ground
A high water table rules out an underground motor. Above-ground automation on a properly drained, raised track is what lasts on wet ground.

Electric Gates in Wedmore
Wedmore sits on a ridge above the Somerset Levels, which gives it a stone village centre on higher ground and scattered farms and converted properties on the flat land below, many at the end of long private droves.
The Levels bring their own rules. Down on the flat, ground water is high and drainage ditches are everywhere, so underground motors are usually the wrong answer and long approaches make power supply a real design question rather than an afterthought. Up on the ridge it is a more ordinary installation.
Wedmore is around fifty-five minutes from us, down the M5 and across. Send us a couple of photographs and rough measurements of your entrance and we will come back with a realistic figure before anyone books a visit.
01
Electric Gate Installation in Wedmore
Our gate installers cover Wedmore and the area around it, fitting electric driveway gates in aluminium, timber and steel to suit the opening, the gradient and the way the entrance is actually used. Our Essential range starts at £6,995 including VAT, installed, with Premium from £10,200 including VAT for bespoke work.
We measure the closing forces on completion, fit photocells and safety edges as standard, and talk you through the manual release in person. You can price an aluminium entrance yourself with our gate builder before speaking to anyone.
If you are pricing automatic gates in Wedmore, our online builder gives you an aluminium figure without a phone call.
Long Rural Drives
Where the gate is a long way from the house, the power run, the intercom and the ground conditions all need designing rather than assuming.
Power & Solar
No supply at the entrance is not a problem. We either run armoured cable or specify a solar and battery arrangement, whichever genuinely suits the site.
Timber Electric Gates
A traditional look with modern security behind it. Heavier than aluminium, so the automation is specified to carry the weight rather than just to fit the budget.

Driveway Gates Designed Around Your Wedmore Entrance
Openings wider than about five metres in Wedmore usually mean sliding driveway gates, because a swing leaf that long becomes unwieldy.
03
Gate Servicing and Maintenance in Wedmore
High ground water and agricultural traffic between them are hard on anything at ground level. Above-ground automation, sealed enclosures and an annual service is the arrangement that lasts here.

We service the gate automation in Wedmore that we fit, and plenty that we did not.

Gate repairs in Wedmore are booked by phone or through the site, and photographs speed the diagnosis up.
Keypad & Remote Entry
Coded keypad entry for family and trades, plus programmed handsets. Every automated gate we install comes with remotes as standard.
Annual Servicing
One visit a year keeps the moving parts right and the safety devices working, and it is when we catch the fault before it becomes a call-out.
Repairs, Any Brand
Gate not opening, motor failure, photocell or intercom faults, repaired on any make of automation whether or not we installed it.

Yes, where the gates are worth keeping. We check the hinges, the posts and the power first — undersized posts are the commonest reason a retrofit fails. Plenty of our Wedmore work is automating gates hung manually years ago.
