Our Essential range starts at £6,995 and Premium starts at £10,200, both including VAT and fully installed. Where you land inside that depends on the width of your opening, the material, how much groundwork and cabling is needed, and which access control you choose. Send photos and rough measurements and we’ll give you a realistic initial quotation first — the fixed written price follows the survey, and the survey only goes in the diary once you’re happy with the number.

First conversation to handover is usually six to ten weeks. Most of that is manufacture. The installation itself is normally one to three days on site, depending on groundwork and how far the power has to run.

Often not — but treat this as guidance rather than gospel. Gates up to 2m are generally permitted development, dropping to 1m where they meet a road used by vehicles, and listed buildings, conservation areas, Article 4 directions and planning conditions all create exceptions. Confirm with your local authority before committing; if yours looks borderline we will say so early, not after you have paid.

Swing gates suit most driveways and cost less to install. You need clear space for the leaves to open into, and a reasonably level surface. A sliding gate is the answer where the drive slopes, where the opening is wide, or where you cannot give up the space behind the gate. We will tell you which one your opening actually wants.

Every system we fit has a manual release so you are never locked in or out. On the Premium range we can also fit a battery backup that keeps the gates running through a power cut.

Often, yes. It depends on the condition of the gates, the posts and the hinges — automation puts loads through a gate that hand operation never does. We will check the frame and posts at the survey and tell you honestly whether automating them is money well spent.

They are when they are installed properly. Every gate we fit is force tested and set up with photocells and safety edges so it stops if anything is in the way, and you get a handover pack covering safe operation, isolation and the manual release.
